Carol concerts begin Christmas celebrations

Home-Start has started its Christmas celebrations early with two magical carol concerts to support our Snowflake Appeal for vulnerable children.

The concerts were supported by Investec who have been long-time supporters of Home-Start UK and our life-changing work with families.

Home-Start’s first concert took place at St Anne’s Cathedral in Belfast with a service led by the Dean of Belfast, Very Rev. John Mann.

The second concert was held at St. Bride's Church, Fleet Street, in London.

The concert at St. Brides contained a special reading by Home-Start’s ambassador and TV presenter, Kirstie Allsopp who also spoke about why she supports Home-Start and why our work means so much to her.

Sue Thorne, Home-Start’s head of fundraising said “These carol concerts were two wonderful events, and we are very grateful to St. Bride’s Church, and St Anne’s Cathedral, as well as the whole team at Investec and Kirstie for all of their help and support.”

“While these are always beautiful and fun, the most important thing is that they support the Snowflake Appeal and that the generosity of those who attended will make a massive difference to children across the UK.”

Home-Start’s Snowflake Appeal is helping provide support to thousands of children like Joseph and their parents. Joseph was born prematurely, in a complex birth and required 24 hour medical care from his mum, Jackie.

“Normal mums can simply cuddle and enjoy their babies,” said Jackie. “I had to keep mine alive.”

Please support our 2015 Snowflake Appeal so that we can support children in all the families who are asking for help, and expand our services into new communities in need.
