We’re really excited about this new snowflake fundraising project from the lovely people at LoveCrochet.
LoveCrochet are asking crafters everywhere to pick up a hook and crochet a snowflake to support the 2015 Home-Start Snowflake Appeal. And they’ve enlisted the help of Kirstie Allsopp to show that everyone can have a go!
Keen crafters can watch Bella-Coco, the popular crochet blogger, teach Kirstie how to crochet her exclusive, free snowflake pattern.
Visit the LoveCrochet website to download the free snowflake pattern and watch Bella-Coco’s step-by-step video tutorial at www.lovecrochet.com/snowflake.
Most excitingly, all the snowflakes you make can be sold to raise more money for our appeal. Or you can send them to Home-Start UK, and if we get them before 16th November we’ll take them with us to display at Kirstie Allsopp’s Christmas Handmade Fair from 20th - 22nd November in Manchester.
Every snowflake sent to us will then be included as festive decorations in the Christmas survival boxes sent to struggling Home-Start families.
When she was being shown how to crochet the snowflake Kirstie said, “I love the idea of a Snowflake Appeal - helping children as unique and fragile as snowflakes. The charity can tailor their support to the unique needs of each and every child. And I love how this also links in with the uniqueness and fragility of craft work. This is an amazing organisation - on the ground, helping people. If you want to help anyone in the UK, Home-Start is the best way to do it."
