3D acrylic snowflake exclusive to Home-Start's snowflake appeal

Home-Start's beautiful new 3D snowflake decorations, now on sale across the UK, were first designed and made by hand by a 13 year-old.

Logan Thomson made twenty for a Snowflake Appeal event in January 2015. He had spent weeks creating them at his after-school laser club, pushing out all the tiny bits of acrylic by hand with a cocktail stick, testing them, and making them work in three dimensions. He called them Logan's Laser Flakes, and he sold them all within minutes on his fundraising stall.

Home-Start saw the snowflakes and loved them. After all they are gorgeous! We wanted to give more people the chance to decorate their homes with something so lovely, while supporting our Snowflake Appeal.

But we also really wanted to tell the story of Logan's creativity and thoughtfulness towards vulnerable children.

So now they are available for you to buy and give. This time they have been manufactured in bulk, so Logan didn't have to push out any of the bits with a cocktail stick! All he had to do was enjoy looking at them.

Thank you, Logan, for creating something so very lovely, and for doing it for Home-Start's Snowflake appeal.

There are two choices of the snowflake available in our shop: one sold as a simple decoration, the other as a special snowflake gift for someone close to you. There is a limited edition of 500 of each available in the first instance.

If, like Logan, you want to do something unique to fundraise for the Snowflake Appeal, see our fundraising ideas pack and let your imagination run wild.
