Get your free crochet kit and help our appeal

As part of their appeal for crocheters to make 30,000 snowflakes to give to the children and families that Home-Start supports, Love Crochet is giving away 10,000 crochet starter kits. The campaign is also being supported by crafting celebrity Kirstie Allsopp who can be seen learning how to crochet a snowflake with blogger Bella Coco at www.lovecrochet.com/snowflake. Three Bears Yarn have supplied 10,000 hanks of yarn for the kit.

The free kit has everything required to crochet a snowflake including 10g of delicate Three Bears Cotton yarn, a 4mm hook and an exclusive pattern written by Bella Coco that is suitable for all skill levels. There is just a £1 charge towards postage, and customers are asked to make a donation to Home-Start when they order their kit, at www.lovecrochet.com/crochet-snowflake-kit.

The finished snowflakes can either be sold to raise more money for the charity, or sent to Home-Start. Those that arrive by Monday, November 16 will be displayed by Kirstie Allsopp and her team at The Handmade Christmas Fair, Manchester Central on November 20- 22. After the fair, the snowflakes will be included as festive decorations in the Christmas survival boxes that are distributed to the families Home-Start helps all over the UK, to remind them that they not alone.

Kirstie Allsopp said, “I love the idea of a Snowflake Appeal - helping children as unique and fragile as snowflakes. The charity can tailor their support to the unique needs of each and every child. And I love how this also links in with the uniqueness and fragility of craft work. This is an amazing organisation - on the ground, helping people. If you want to help anyone in the UK, Home-Start is the best way to do it.”
